Step One: 
State What You Want in Positive Language

Too often, people talk about what they don't want. They say things like, I don't want to be poor, I’m sick of having depression, I hate my life. No matter what they do, they remain where they are.. Well, the truth is, taking about what you want in this way only reinforces the things you want to get rid of in your life. 

If Instead you talk about what you do want— you start building up those pictures inside your mind. It all becomes very clear to your mind when you start saying things like, I want a happier life where my attitude drives my success in helping me achieve the things I want. Although this is a start, it need to get more specific. The more specific you are about the things you want, your mind will have a greater ability to start searching and sorting for it. Its all very simple. 

Just remember that the most important thing is to do things to get it done. If you want to start enjoying life, what are you going to do about it? If you want to be in love with the spouse you’ve been with for twenty years, what are you going to to about it? If you want your kids to respect you, what are you going to do about it? 


Step Two:
Is What You Want in Your Control? 

As talented as Olympic athletes are, sometimes they are not in control of their outcome because a judge is involved. Some have to face the fact that their scores are out of their control. On the other hand, if you have your own business, the decisions you make for your success are totally in your hands. And what you do today, determines your future days ahead. Anything you do now, determines what will happen later. 

So here’s the question… Is what you want in your control? 

If you answered yes, then go ahead to Step 3 in Winning Goals. If what you want is not in your control, then is it best to pick another goal? 

Step Three: 
Will What You Want Have a Positive Effect on Everyone? 

If what you want has a negative effect on any part of your life or any person, ask your self if its really worth getting. I’ve seen a lot of people ruin their lives & relationships by not asking themselves this question. This question has the ability to save many many mistakes that people make. So ask your self, will this hurt anyone I know or will it have a positive effect on everything and everyone? 


Step Four: 
Describe Your Goal in Detail. 

When you’re sure your goal is really what you want, that it’s in your control and that it will have a positive effect
on all aspects of your life—  describe it in detail. 

In a quiet place with no distractions, close your eyes and ask your self the following questions: 

What will you look like when you are living it? 

What will you feel like? 

What will you sound like? 

Merge the entire sensory experience together so you see it all in front of you. Now, have it walk towards you and enter you so that it merges with who you are now. Feel the difference in how you feel now. 

Step Five: Getting It Done
What are you going to start doing now that you have set direction for your brain?
